Paediatric Speech Pathologist | Illawarra
Join Our Team as a Speech Pathologist at The Grove Academy
Campus Locations: Wollongong, North Wollongong, Dapto 1, Dapto 2, Shell Cove & South Nowra
Are you a Speech Pathologist looking for a role where you can make a meaningful difference in children's lives while still having time for your own family? At The Grove Academy, we're looking for a passionate Speech Pathologist to join our growing allied health team and support children aged 0–5 years across our early learning communities.
Why this role could be a great fit for you
We know that finding the right balance between career and family can be challenging — especially when you have young children.
That's why we're proud to offer:
Part-time opportunities – find a schedule that works for your stage of life
50% off childcare fees for your little ones – a significant benefit for working parents
Work within our early learning centres – become part of a community rather than constantly travelling between individual clients
A supportive and collaborative team – work alongside educators, Centre Directors and allied health professionals
Professional growth – continue developing your clinical skills while working in a specialist early childhood environment
A workplace that values family – we understand that your career is only one part of your life
Whether you're a parent returning to work, looking to reduce your hours while your children are young, or simply seeking a more sustainable way to continue your Speech Pathology career, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
As a Speech Pathologist at The Grove Academy, you'll have the opportunity to work directly within our early learning centres, supporting children through play, everyday routines and meaningful interactions.
Rather than working solely within a traditional therapy room, you'll see communication in action and collaborate with the people who spend the most time with each child.
Your role will include:
Conducting speech and language assessments
Providing evidence-based individual and small-group intervention
Supporting early language and communication development
Supporting speech sound development
Supporting social communication and interaction
Supporting emergent literacy and early learning
Collaborating with educators to embed communication strategies throughout the child's day
Coaching and empowering educators and families
Providing professional development and training to educators
Working collaboratively with Centre Directors and our allied health team
Building positive relationships with children and families
Monitoring progress and adapting intervention to meet individual needs
You’ll have the opportunity to see the impact of your work beyond the therapy session, with strategies being carried over throughout children's everyday experiences.
You're Part of the Team
You’ll work closely with our passionate educators and Centre Directors, as well as other allied health professionals.
We believe the best outcomes happen when everyone works together.
You’ll have opportunities to:
Share your clinical knowledge
Learn from experienced early childhood professionals
Develop strong relationships with families
Contribute to the development of our allied health services
Grow your career as The Grove Academy continues to expand
And importantly, you’ll have a team around you.
A Outstanding Opportunity for Parents & Carers
We particularly welcome Speech Pathologists who are looking for a role that works alongside their family life.
Returning from parental leave
Looking to reduce your hours while your children are young
Wanting to work closer to home
Looking for a more sustainable alternative to a traditional clinical caseload
Wanting to maintain your clinical skills while balancing family life
Looking for a supportive workplace that understands the realities of parenting
Your career doesn't have to stop when you have a family — and neither should your opportunity to grow.
