- Develop holistic and culturally responsive education programs and responses to all children, within the context of their families and communities.
- Structure indoor and outdoor environments and activities with a balance of active and passive learning areas to guide children to participate constructively, to explore, to learn, and to interact positively with other children through play.
- Assist in developing individual learning plans and documenting children's progress through observations and assessments.
- Build and maintain warm, respectful, and stable relationships with children and families to promote a sense of security and continuity.
- Support children's behaviour and wellbeing using positive guidance strategies.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment, indoors and outdoors.
- Contribute to team discussions, reflective practices, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Support the centre's daily operations and management tasks as delegated by the Centre Director, such as contributing to resource planning, liaising with families, or mentoring junior staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certificate III (or higher) in Early Childhood Education and Care.
- Minimum 1 year of full-time experience in an early childhood education and care setting.
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certifications (HLTAID012 or equivalent).
- Valid NSW Working with Children Check.
- Excellent knowledge of child development in the 0-6 years age group and proven ability to plan appropriate programs.
- Ability to evaluate and make recommendations to the leadership team on the planning and implementation of education and care programs within the service.
- Experience in undertaking educational program planning to meet the needs of all children within the service.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to build trusting relationships with children and families, promoting long-term engagement and continuity of care.
Desirable Attributes:
