Jacobs

Perth

At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

Jacobs is looking for an established Environment & Sustainability leader to help grow our business in Western Australia.

This is a full-time role with two connected parts. You will spend approximately two to three days each week building the business through client engagement, prospect development and strategic pursuits. The remaining time will be spent leading and delivering projects aligned with your technical background.

We are open to candidates from across the Environment & Sustainability field. You might bring a background in Sustainability, Contaminated Land, Planning and Approvals, Ecology, Environmental Management or a related discipline. You do not need to be an Environmental Approvals specialist. We are looking for someone with the credibility to engage clients, recognise opportunities across the wider portfolio and bring the right technical expertise together to shape and win work.

The opportunity

Western Australia offers significant opportunities for Jacobs to grow our Environment & Sustainability business. Our focus includes transport, water, ports, resources, Defence and renewables, working with clients such as Water Corporation, Main Roads WA, Chevron, Fortescue and Rio Tinto.

You will play a visible role in developing our position in these markets. You will build trusted relationships, understand what matters to clients and help shape opportunities early. You will also draw on Jacobs’ multidisciplinary capabilities to develop solutions that meet client needs across the Environment and Sustainability Space.

Alongside this growth work, you will lead and contribute to project delivery in your area of expertise. You will be part of a broad team of environmental professionals and help strengthen our capability and reputation across WA.

What You Will Do

Build client relationships and grow the business

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior client decision-makers and industry contacts.
- Lead growth activity across an agreed portfolio of priority accounts.
- Understand client priorities, upcoming programmes and challenges, and identify opportunities where Jacobs can add value.
- Position Jacobs early and help shape opportunities before they reach procurement.
- Take an active role in the region’s priority pursuits, developing pursuit strategies and helping convert opportunities into work.
- Bring together Jacobs’ Environment & Sustainability services and other relevant capabilities to develop integrated client solutions.

- Share market intelligence and client insight with colleagues across the business.
- Represent Jacobs at client and industry forums, strengthening our profile and reputation in WA.

Lead project delivery and technical work

- Lead and contribute to projects aligned with your experience and technical expertise.
- Provide senior advice, technical direction and quality oversight.
- Build strong client relationships through high-quality project delivery.
- Lead or contribute to multidisciplinary teams, coordinating the right expertise to deliver successful outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to extend or build on existing commissions.
- Mentor and develop colleagues, sharing your experience and supporting the growth of our WA team.

Here's what you'll need

About You

You are a respected senior professional with a strong track record in the Environment & Sustainability sector. You are known for the quality of your work, your ability to build client confidence and your understanding of the WA market.

You will bring

- Senior experience in one or more Environment & Sustainability disciplines, such as Sustainability, Contaminated Land, Planning and Approvals, Ecology or Environmental Management.
- A strong professional reputation and established relationships with clients or industry in Western Australia.
- Experience leading complex projects and delivering high-quality outcomes.
- A track record of developing client relationships, identifying opportunities or contributing to successful pursuits.
- The ability to understand client needs and bring together the right technical specialists to respond.
- Commercial awareness and confidence discussing client challenges, opportunities and solutions.
- Experience leading, mentoring or developing technical teams.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to represent Jacobs with clients and industry.

How The Role Will Work This is a full time position. The expected balance is approximately two to three days per week on growth activities and two to three days on project delivery. The precise allocation will vary with project commitments and business priorities, with both growth and delivery remaining core parts of the role.

You will work closely with Environment & Sustainability leaders, account and market teams, project teams and technical specialists across Jacobs.
