About the jobRole Overview The Solution Architect will lead the solution definition phase of a case management modernisation initiative, defining the target-state architecture and how AI can be meaningfully built into it. This senior, hands-on advisory role works with executive stakeholders, technical teams, and delivery partners, driving market and vendor research, shaping architectural options, and recommending a path forward from the existing legacy technology. The outcome is a clear, evidence-based solution direction the client can confidently invest in.

Candidates must be based in Melbourne and available to start immediately or at very short notice.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Definition & Architecture

- Lead the development of a solution paper defining the target-state architecture for the case management system
- Define migration and modernisation options from the existing legacy technology
- Shape the integration approach and architectural options for the future-state solution
- Validate assumptions, constraints, and requirements with client stakeholders and technical teams throughout the engagement

Decision-Making & Vendor Evaluation

- Facilitate and document the key architectural and technology decisions, including build vs buy, platform selection, and integration approach
- Conduct market and vendor research into modern case management and AI-enabled platforms, tools, and approaches
- Run structured vendor evaluations and record a explicit rationale for each recommendation





AI Capability Assessment

- Assess where and how AI can be meaningfully embedded in the future solution, such as intelligent case triage, document processing, and decision support
- Identify viable AI use cases and assess their technical feasibility, grounded in practical capability rather than hype
- Address data, security, privacy, and governance considerations, translating AI opportunities into practical solution designs

Executive Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement

- Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations on architectural options, trade-offs, and recommendations
- Communicate complex technical choices in a clear, business-oriented way
- Work closely with client stakeholders, technical teams, and delivery partners, respecting formal decision-making processes

Skills and Experience

Essential

- 12+ years’ overall technology experience, including at least 10 years as a Solution Architect on complex, enterprise-scale systems, ideally including legacy modernisation or replacement programs
- Senior advisory background, comfortable defining architecture from a relatively open brief, running structured market and vendor evaluations, and producing well-reasoned solution papers
- Strong, demonstrated experience architecting and applying AI/ML capabilities within enterprise solutions,



from use case identification and feasibility through to data, security, privacy, and governance considerations
- Strong written and verbal communication, with experience presenting to and defending recommendations with executive stakeholders in highly governed, sensitive environments
