Glendal Food Co. is seeking a reliable, hands-on Storeperson / Forklift Operator to support our food manufacturing operations in Brunswick, conveniently located close to public transport.
This diverse role covers receiving, stock control, production supply, packing and dispatch. You’ll work closely with our production and inventory teams and help across other areas of the business as required.
About the role
Reporting to the Production Manager, with dotted-line reporting to the Inventory & Planning Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Receiving deliveries and checking quantities, condition, temperatures and documentation.
- Safely operating forklifts to unload, move, store and load goods.
- Maintaining organised dry, chilled and frozen storage areas.
- Managing stock rotation, product identification, batch traceability and accurate inventory records.
- Picking and supplying ingredients and packaging to production.
- Assisting with stocktakes and reporting shortages, discrepancies and products approaching expiry.
- Packing, labelling, palletising and dispatching finished goods.
- Following food safety, hygiene, allergen-control and workplace safety procedures.
- Providing practical support across production, packing and basic administration as needed.
About you
You’ll bring
- A current forklift licence appropriate to the equipment operated.
- A reliable work ethic and a practical, cooperative approach.
- Good attention to detail when checking goods and maintaining records.
- Confidence in using inventory systems and completing basic administrative tasks.
- The ability to handle goods safely and work in dry, chilled and frozen environments.
- Clear communication skills and flexibility to respond to changing priorities.
- An understanding of food hygiene and safe working practices.
Previous experience in food manufacturing, warehousing or a similar environment is desirable.
Hours and location
This is an onsite, full-time position at our Brunswick facility, working 38 hours per week, ordinarily rostered between 6am and 6pm. Some flexibility outside these hours may be required to meet operational needs.
