Ostanes Engineering is an established Queensland-based structural engineering consultancy delivering engineering services across Queensland and other Australian states.

With an established client base, consistent project enquiries, a growing market presence and integrated business management systems, we are exploring an exciting opportunity to expand our structural design capabilities through a long-term business partnership.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded structural engineer interested in taking a leading role in developing and managing the design side of our business.

This is more than a conventional subcontracting opportunity. We are looking for someone who can contribute technical expertise, sound judgement, initiative and a genuine interest in growing a business together.

The role would initially focus on:

- Managing incoming structural design enquiries, quotations and client communication.
- Delivering and overseeing structural designs, calculations, drawings and applicable certification.
- Working across residential, commercial and other structural engineering projects within your competence.
- Developing competitive pricing strategies to improve project conversion and profitability.
- Working collaboratively through our established business systems, with flexibility and professional independence.

As the relationship develops, opportunities may include expanding into structural inspections, broader business management,



business development and potentially an equity stake or buy-in arrangement.

Who Would Suit This Opportunity?

An experienced structural engineer who:

- Holds current RPEQ registration, preferably with strong Queensland project experience.
- Has practical structural design experience and sound commercial judgement.
- Demonstrates a proactive, solutions-focused, can-do attitude.
- Can independently manage projects and communicate professionally with clients.
- Is comfortable with flexible, project-based work and variable workloads.
- Has an entrepreneurial mindset and is interested in building something for the longer term.

Engineers operating their own consultancy, independent practitioners and experienced professionals interested in developing an additional business opportunity are encouraged to apply.

Existing software, resources and insurance arrangements can be discussed based on the proposed partnership structure.

The Commercial Arrangement

We envisage an initial flexible, project-based profit-sharing arrangement, with no fixed salary or guaranteed minimum workload.

The exact structure, responsibilities and financial terms will be mutually agreed.

For the right individual, we are also open to discussing a deeper strategic partnership, including potential equity participation or investment in the business.
