About the role

As the Bar Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth and effective operation of our vibrant hospitality venue in the Williamstown Maritime Precinct. In this Casual role, you will play a vital part in delivering an exceptional experience for our guests and ensuring the ongoing success of our business.

Key responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the bar and restaurant, ensuring all customer service, food and beverage service, and cleaning standards are consistently met
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of hospitality professionals, providing coaching and training to drive performance and foster a positive work environment
- Oversee stock control, inventory management and ordering to maintain optimal product levels and minimise waste
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and licensing regulations
- Foster positive relationships with customers, suppliers and other key stakeholders
- Participate in the planning and execution of special events and promotions

About you

- Experience in a similar bar management role, preferably within a hospitality environment
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff
- Excellent customer service orientation and interpersonal skills
- Thorough understanding of bar and restaurant operations, including inventory management
- Knowledge of relevant health, safety and licensing regulations




- An empathy and understanding of the Williamstown Maritime Association values

About us The Pirates Tavern is a unique bar and music venue that offers a welcoming atmosphere and stunning views of Hobsons Bay located on the Williamstown waterfront. A hidden treasure, tucked away in the docks behind Seaworks Williamstown. As part of the (WMA) Williamstown Maritime Association, this not-for-profit establishment has been preserving the old Port of Melbourne Authority site since 2004.

The Williamstown Maritime Association (WMA) was set up to establish a working maritime precinct, Seaworks, on the old Port of Melbourne Authority site in Melbourne's historic port of Williamstown.

The WMA has proven itself to be a unique community asset, locally as well as to Melbourne itself. The Seaworks Foundation was initiated by the WMA to oversee management and development of the site, and the WMA works closely with the Foundation.
