The Warehouse Operator is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods. This role ensures inventory is accurately maintained and all warehouse processes are performed according to company standards, in a hands-on and busy warehouse where on-time delivery and quality service are critical to Alpha Supply's reputation.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in running an efficient warehouse operation that fulfils operational and customer demand and meets set targets
- Manufacture items as instructed
- Pick product quantities from the correct warehouse locations as per the picking ticket
- Check the accuracy of each pick and place it in the nominated area for inspection
- Package and label orders for dispatch
- Fulfil orders and book freight in NetSuite as required
- Unload containers safely and efficiently and move incoming goods to shelves and designated warehouse locations
- Replenish and move stock to shelves as directed and ensure stock movements are recorded accurately
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery where required, licensed, and authorised
- Understand and comply with health,
safety and environmental policies and regulations, and work safely to protect themselves and others
About you
- 3 years previous experience in a similar role or industry
- Current unencumbered driver's licence and forklift licence required
- Valuable understanding of OH&S; requirements
- Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy, and basic maths skills
- Effective time and priority management, able to meet targets and deadlines
- Hands-on team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure, unsupervised and in a team
- Adequate physical strength to unload shipments, ability to stand for extended periods, and ability to lift and manoeuvre products in line with manual handling procedures
