We are looking for an experienced Asset Finance & Credit Specialist to join our finance team and take ownership of commercial equipment finance transactions once they are handed over by our Sales team. You will sit at the intersection of Sales, our clients, our funding partners and our accounting team, moving transactions efficiently from signed customer agreement through credit approval, documentation and settlement. Every transaction has three perspectives: the customer needs an appropriate commercial outcome, the funder needs to be comfortable with the credit risk, and Addcom needs the transaction completed accurately, commercially and on time.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of equipment finance transactions once handed over by Sales
- Review each transaction and ensure the proposed structure is appropriate before submission
- Complete credit checks and prepare and submit finance applications through funder portals
- Work directly with funder credit teams throughout the assessment process
- Respond to credit questions, information requests and approval conditions
- Build a solid, fact-based commercial case and advocate for the deal where a transaction needs further justification
- Recognise when a transaction needs to be restructured or presented differently to achieve an acceptable credit outcome
- Consider alternative funders or structures where the original approach isn't suitable
- Communicate professionally with clients when financials, identification, guarantees or supporting documents are required
- Coordinate finance documentation, execution and settlement, including approval notices, equipment invoices and brokerage invoices
About you
- Experience in commercial equipment or asset finance
- A strong understanding of credit assessment and commercial lending
- Experience dealing directly with funders and credit teams
- An understanding of finance documentation and settlement processes
- The ability to read financial information and identify what matters from a credit perspective
- Strong commercial judgement and problem-solving ability
- Excellent attention to detail
- Confidence communicating with senior clients and financial institutions
- The ability to manage several transactions at once without losing control of the detail
- An accounting, finance, banking or related background
