Southport Metro Doctors is looking for a medical receptionist to join our front desk team.

We’re a busy, well established GP practice in the heart of Southport. Our patients come from all walks of life and most of them know our reception staff by name. If you like being the friendly face people see when they walk in, and you’re the sort of person who can keep ten things moving without losing your cool, we’d love to hear from you.

What the job actually involves

Greeting patients and getting them checked in, answering the phones and managing bookings, processing Medicare and private billing, keeping the doctors’ days running smoothly, and generally being the glue that holds the front of the practice together.

Who we’re hoping to find

We’d really like someone who already knows their way around Best Practice. If you’ve worked in a GP clinic before and can walk in and start booking appointments on Bp without a lot of hand holding, that puts you at the top of the pile. That said,



if you’ve got solid medical reception experience on another system and you pick things up quickly, we are still interested.

Beyond that, we’re after someone who:

- Is warm and patient with people, even when they’re having a rough day

- Stays calm and organised when the waiting room fills up

- Has a positive eye for detail, especially with billing and patient records

- Is reliable, turns up, and takes pride in doing the job well

- Works well as part of a team

- Someone who would like to make impact
