As Business Development Manager based in the Greater Sydney area, you will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, developing existing relationships and driving profitable growth across New South Wales. You will work closely with our management, engineering and sales teams to understand customer requirements and develop practical, technically sound solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies to grow APS's New South Wales market presence.
- Identify, pursue and convert new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, builders, engineers and industry partners.
- Develop new accounts while growing existing key accounts.
- Prepare and present proposals, quotations and technical solutions.
- Work with the internal team to ensure customer requirements are understood and delivered.
- Monitor market trends, competitors and emerging opportunities.
- Attend customer meetings, industry events and networking opportunities.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and provide regular business development reports.
- Achieve agreed sales, margin and growth targets.
About you
- Proven experience in business development, sales or account management.
- Experience within the pump, water, fire protection, industrial, construction, or mechanical services sectors.
- Strong understanding of the Australian market and business environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- The ability to understand technical products and translate customer requirements into practical solutions.
- A robust network of industry contacts would be highly regarded.
- A self-motivated and proactive approach.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- A current Australian driver's licence.
