About the role

Animal Health Centre is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to join our team on a full time basis in Donnybrook, WA 6239. As a Veterinary Nurse, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality animal healthcare and welfare services to our clients and their beloved pets. This position is essential to our clinic's operations, supporting our veterinarians and ensuring optimal patient care and safety.

You will be at the heart of our mission to promote animal health and wellbeing within our community.

What you'll be doing

- Assisting veterinarians during surgical procedures, diagnostic imaging and clinical examinations

- Monitoring and recording patient vital signs and post-operative recovery progress

- Maintaining and sterilising veterinary equipment and surgical instruments

- Providing compassionate nursing care to hospitalised animals and monitoring their wellbeing

- Collecting and processing laboratory samples and assisting with diagnostic procedures

- Communicating with clients regarding their pets' care, treatment plans and discharge instructions

- Maintaining accurate and detailed clinical records and patient documentation

- Maintaining high standards of hygiene, infection control and biosecurity protocols

- Supporting the smooth operation of the clinic and assisting with reception duties as required

What we're looking for

- Current registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the Veterinary Surgeons Board of Western Australia or eligible to obtain registration

- Completion of a recognised Veterinary Nursing qualification or diploma

- Proven experience working as a Veterinary Nurse in a small animal practice or veterinary clinic

- Strong knowledge of veterinary nursing protocols, surgical assistance and animal handling techniques





- Excellent animal care and welfare skills with a genuine passion for animal health and wellbeing

- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians and team members

- Reliable, professional and organised approach to work with strong attention to detail

- Physical fitness and capability to handle and restrain animals safely
