We are seeking a talented and experienced baker to join our team at the French Bakehouse in Somerville, Victoria. As one of our Bakers, you will play a crucial role in producing high-quality baked goods that delight our customers and uphold the exceptional standards of our renowned bakery.

Key responsibilities

- Mix, knead, and proof dough to create a variety of breads, pastries, and other baked items
- Operate commercial baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, and slicers to ensure efficient and consistent production
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations
- Collaborate with the Head Baker and Pastry Chef to develop new recipes and improve existing ones
- Assist in the training and supervision of junior bakers and kitchen staff
- Ensure all baked goods are produced to the highest quality and presented to our customers to the company's exacting standards

What we're looking for

- Minimum 3 years of experience as a professional baker in a commercial setting
- Strong understanding of baking techniques, food science, and ingredient properties




- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for creating delicious, visually appealing baked goods
- Ability to work autonomously andcollaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive work culture
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Food safety and hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Trade Certificate in baking or equivalent recognised baking qualification
