Albury Wodonga Aboriginal HealthService (AWAHS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisationcommitted to delivering culturally safe, accessible, and community led primaryhealth care services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across theAlbury–Wodonga region. About the Role

The role supports individuals in accessingappropriate sexual health services, including guidance, support, and treatment,in a respectful and non-judgemental environment.

There is a strong emphasis on collaborationwith a multidisciplinary team and external services to ensure coordinated,culturally responsive care. The position actively supports patients by buildingtrust, encouraging participation in care, and providing ongoing supporttailored to individual needs. A key component of the role involves healthpromotion and education, empowering clients and the broader community to makeinformed decisions about their health,



while fostering greater awareness andsustained engagement with services across both clinic and outreach settings.

Thisis a secure fixed-term opportunity through to 30 June 2029, offering stabilitywhile making a meaningful difference in the community.

You will:

- Provide sexual healthassessments, testing, treatment and case management
- Deliver health promotion andeducation programs
- Work both in clinic andvia outreach (van visits & home visits)
- Support prevention and earlyintervention strategies
- Collaborate with doctors, healthworkers, and community partners
- Contribute to innovative,community led healthcare solutions

About you:

- Registered Nurse (AHPRA Division1)
- Experience in primary health careor community nursing
- Understanding of communicablediseases, harm reduction and prevention strategies
- Ability to build respectful andtrusting relationships with Aboriginal communities
- Strong communication and teamworkskills
- Commitment to culturally safe andinclusive care
