Saros Bar & Dining (located in The Sebel Moonee Ponds), is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef de partie to work with the existing team and continue delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our valued customers. Specializing in European cuisine, we pride ourselves on serving unique and delicious share plates that showcase the flavours and diversity. Tasks & responsibilities

- Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
- Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff
- Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
- Preparing and cooking food
- Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
- May select and train staff
- Freeze and preserve foods
- Overseeing the day to day running of the kitchen
- Maintaining excellent product quality & presentation




- Improving product quality wherever possible
- Ensure that the quality & presentation of food guarantees repeat business
- Be accountable for compliance regarding all food-related practices & procedures
- Enjoy mentoring staff & developing a dedicated team.

Qualifications & experience

- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, taking pride in the quality & consistency of the food you produce
- Be reliable, friendly, honest & punctual
- Have a strong understanding of produce, culinary techniques & kitchen equipment
- Ability to work under pressure, is excited by a challenging quick paced environment,

Prerequisites

- AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2)
- At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
