Experienced Bookkeeper / Executive Officer – Financial Operations
Accurate numbers. Reliable reporting. Clients who know they can count on you.
Work remotely | Permanent full-time or part-time | $70,000–$80,000 plus super (pro rata for part time)
There’s satisfaction in a reconciliation that balances. A month-end completed on time. A clear answer to a client’s question. And knowing the records behind a financial report are accurate and complete.
If you enjoy bringing that kind of order and confidence to financial operations, we’d like to hear from you.
At CB‑Virtual Solutions (CBVS), we’re looking for an Executive Officer – Financial Operations to deliver bookkeeping and financial operations services across a portfolio of clients.
About CBVS
CBVS provides outsourced company secretarial, governance, financial operations and board support services. We work alongside boards and management teams to help them meet their obligations, make informed decisions and keep their organisations running well.
We now support 10% of Bendigo Bank community bank boards. These are locally owned companies that operate community bank branches under franchise arrangements with Bendigo Bank and support local community initiatives through their profits.
We’re proud of the relationships we’ve built in this sector. We’re also expanding our services into not-for-profit organisations, registered clubs and private schools.
Our approach combines experienced people with practical systems and technology. We care about accuracy, clear communication and being people our clients can rely on.
The opportunity
Reporting to our Practice Lead – Financial Operations & Community Investment,
you’ll deliver accurate, timely financial work and build trusted relationships with the clients you support.
You’ll manage recurring tasks, month-end deadlines and client queries across multiple organisations. You’ll work closely with colleagues, follow established financial controls and identify opportunities to improve how we work.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Day-to-day bookkeeping: processing transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, and completing reconciliations.
- Month-end and reporting: managing month-end processes, maintaining accurate records and preparing financial reports and supporting documentation.
- Budgets and audits: supporting preparation of client budgets and coordinating information and documentation for auditors.
- Other financial activities: managing client insurance renewals and coordinating and processing company dividends.
- Client support: responding to queries, explaining financial information clearly and following through on outstanding matters.
- Quality and controls: checking your work, identifying discrepancies and escalating issues early.
- Workload and service delivery: managing competing deadlines and completing work to agreed service standards.
About you
You have experience in bookkeeping, accounting or financial operations,
and you take pride in work that is accurate, complete and delivered on time.
You’re comfortable moving between clients and priorities without losing track of the details. You investigate a discrepancy rather than working around it, and you know when to ask for a second opinion.
We’re looking for:
- Practical experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and month-end processes.
- Confidence using Xero accounting software and digital systems.
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- The ability to organise your workload across multiple clients and deadlines.
- Clear, professional communication and the confidence to respond directly to clients.
- Sound judgement and care when handling confidential financial information.
- A relevant qualification in accounting, finance or a related discipline—or equivalent demonstrated experience.
A Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping, Diploma of Accounting, or progress towards a relevant qualification would be welcomed.
Experience working across multiple clients would be valuable. You don’t need previous community bank experience, but you’ll need the curiosity and willingness to learn how our clients operate.
What you can expect
- Employment arrangements: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) or part-time (22.5–30 hours per week), by agreement.
- Remuneration: $70k - $80k plus superannuation.
- Remote working, with occasional onsite client work required.
- Support and guidance from the Practice Lead and your colleagues.
- Varied client work across bookkeeping, reporting, budgets an
