Regional Sales and Business Development Manager

Your Employer

Agri Talent is proud to partner with Boomaroo Nurseries, one of Australia's leading wholesale vegetable seedling producers, to recruit a Sales & Business Development Manager for their Southern States operations.

With major nurseries in Lara, Victoria, and Southbrook, Queensland, Boomaroo has built a strong reputation for quality seedlings, advanced production technology and trusted partnerships with commercial vegetable growers.

Committed to innovation and industry development, Boomaroo continues to invest in new technologies, growing practices and collaborative solutions that support the future of Australian horticulture.

This is an opportunity to represent an established industry leader, nurture valued customer partnerships and play a key role in driving its next phase of commercial growth.

The Role

This is a role for a business development and sales leader who knows the vegetable industry, understands the value of long-standing customer relationships and has the commercial drive to grow the business.

Reporting to Boomaroo's Chief Operating Officer, you'll lead sales across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania, taking ownership of retaining and developing existing key grower relationships while identifying new business opportunities and guiding the regional sales team.

More than selling seedlings, you'll work closely with established and prospective customers to understand their operations, anticipate their needs and develop practical solutions that deliver genuine long-term value.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Retain and nurture key accounts – take a proactive approach to maintaining trusted relationships with established growers,

understanding their evolving needs, maintaining customer satisfaction and securing ongoing business.
- Grow existing customer partnerships – identify opportunities to increase seedling volumes, introduce current crops and products, and strengthen the value of long-term supply relationships.
- Win new business – identify and convert opportunities with commercial vegetable growers, competitor accounts and emerging markets.
- Lead the sales team – coach and develop the regional team, fostering a customer-focused approach that balances key account retention, relationship development and new business growth.
- Shape the territory strategy – use market intelligence, grower insights and industry trends to identify opportunities, protect existing business and guide future growth.
- Deliver profitable results – manage sales targets, margins, pricing, negotiations, forecasts and pipeline conversion, while maintaining strong customer relationships and long‑term commercial value.
- Connect innovation with opportunity – work closely with Boomaroo's nursery, production and technical teams to address customer needs, develop practical solutions and support new products and customer trials.

About You

You know vegetables. You know sales. And you understand that lasting commercial success comes from looking after existing customers just as well as winning new ones.

You'll bring proven sales experience, genuine vegetable industry knowledge and a strong track record of building, retaining and developing valuable customer relationships.

You're comfortable walking a paddock, discussing crop performance, negotiating supply agreements and working through customer challenges. You recognise the importance of being a reliable, trusted partner to growers and maintaining relationships that stand the test of time.

Importantly, you'll share Boomaroo's commitment to quality, innovation and long‑term partnerships that deliver value for growers.

To be considered for the role, you'll demonstrate:

- Strong vegetable industry knowledge, particularly commercial seedling crops, production systems and the challenges facing large-scale growers.
- Proven key account management experience, with demonstrated success in retaining important customers, building loyalty and nurturing long‑term commercial relationships.
- A successful business development background, with clear examples of winning new customers, growing existing accounts and converting opportunities into profitable sales.
- Sales leadership experience, including coaching, developing and managing a regional sales team with a robust focus on customer relationships and commercial performance.
- Sound commercial judgement, with confidence in pricing, margins, negotiations, forecasting and sales strategy.
- Strong relationship management skills, including the ability to build trust, maintain regular customer engagement, navigate challenging conversations and respond constructively to customer needs.
