An independent Brisbane southside accounting and advisory practice is looking for an experienced Auditor to take the lead on its trust account audit work. The firm has been part of the local business community for many years, and its reputation rests on practical advice and long standing client relationships rather than volume.

Trust account auditing is a genuine specialty here, and the clients range from straightforward engagements through to more complex matters. THE ROLE:

Working closely with the Partners, you will own trust account audit engagements for a portfolio of clients and support selected accounting and tax work.

- Plan and run trust account audits from start to finish
- Review trust account records,



reconciliations and supporting documents for compliance
- Prepare explicit working papers, identify exceptions and talk through findings with clients and Partners
- Manage your own workflow, deadlines and follow up actions
- Be a trusted point of contact for clients on audit queries
- Assist with financial statements and income tax returns as needed
- Guide and mentor junior team members where appropriate

THE INDIVIDUAL:

- CA or CPA qualified, or relevant qualifications and experience
- Experience in auditing, external audit or a closely related compliance role
- Trust account audit experience highly regarded, particularly managing engagements and presenting findings
- Strong written and verbal communication with excellent attention to detail
- Confident managing multiple engagements and competing deadlines
- Public practice, tax knowledge and familiarity with Xero or MYOB are advantageous
