It takes a sector-specialist, operationally focused approach to investing in industrial and technology-enabled businesses. It partners with founders and management teams to scale those businesses through operational improvement, capability building, customer expansion and strategic acquisitions. The firm is growing its presence in Australia.
The prospect
This is a chance to join a proven platform as it expands its Australian business. You’ll be part of a small, hands-on team and will help shape how the local business develops, from building the pipeline to strengthening the firm’s profile in the market.
The role is genuinely full-cycle. You’ll work from originatiozn and diligence through to execution, then stay close to portfolio companies to drive strategic and operational improvement. It suits someone who wants to work inside businesses, not just on them.
What you’ll be doing
- Sourcing and assessing opportunities across industrial and technology-enabled businesses to build the Australian pipeline
- Leading workstreams across commercial, operational and financial due diligence
- Building investment cases, valuation models and investment committee materials
- Supporting execution, including structuring,
negotiation and adviser management
- Working directly with portfolio management teams on strategy, value creation and operational initiatives
- Contributing to the firm’s local network and market profile
Who we’re looking for
The firm is open to a range of backgrounds, including:
- Private equity or principal investing
- Management and strategy consulting, ideally with industrials experience
- Corporate development or strategy with an industrial angle
An engineering background is highly beneficial.
You’ll also bring:
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
- A practical understanding of how operating businesses run, and the ability to earn the trust of founders and management
- Clear, structured communication and credibility at senior level
- The drive and ownership to help grow the Australian business
- A degree in engineering, commerce or a related field
