Bluefin is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a large, complex organisation through the early stages of an IT initiative. This role will suit a strong all-rounder Business Analyst, ideally with experience in higher education and structured waterfall environments.

This BA will analyse business problems, engage stakeholders and translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements. You will play a key role in defining problems, assessing processes and identifying practical solutions that align with business objectives and expected benefits.

Role Details

- Job Title: Business Analyst
- Type: Full-Time Hours, 12-month day rate contract
- Location: Brisbane (with WFH flexibility)

Key Responsibilities

- Work with business stakeholders to define problems, scope, objectives, expected benefits and project requirements.
- Analyse existing business processes, identify gaps and opportunities for improvement, and recommend practical solutions.
- Elicit, analyse and document clear functional and non-functional requirements to inform solution design and technical delivery.
- Contribute to business cases, feasibility assessments, options analysis and procurement documentation.
- Identify risks, dependencies,



constraints and impacts to support informed decision-making.

Your Experience

- 5+ years as a Business Analyst across complex organisations and large IT projects.
- Higher Education industry experience is highly regarded
- Experience working within structured, waterfall project environments.
- Experience supporting project initiation, business case development, feasibility analysis or procurement activities.
- Excellent requirements elicitation and documentation skills, with the ability to translate business needs into clear requirements for technical teams
- Strong process analysis skills, including assessing current-state processes, identifying gaps and recommending improvements.
- Confident stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work independently, take initiative and manage competing priorities.
