The ideal candidate will have years of senior-level tax accounting experience in Australia, and be proficient in Xero and MYOB software to manage compliance, reporting, and advisory responsibilities efficiently.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team. This role is ideal for a professional with strong technical tax knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to client service. The ideal candidate will have years of senior-level tax accounting experience in Australia, and be proficient in Xero and MYOB software to manage compliance, reporting, and advisory responsibilities efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and review individual, company, trust, and partnership tax returns
- Manage and review BAS, IAS, FBT, and GST lodgments




- Provide expert tax advice and planning strategies for clients across various industries
- Manage and process ATO correspondence and ASIC correspondence
- Liaise with clients and external stakeholders (e.g. ATO, auditors) in a professional manner
- Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of services
- Conduct tax research and stay updated on relevant tax law changes
- Use Xero and MYOB software for accounting entries, reconciliations, and report generation
- Preparation of year-end financial statements
- Contribute to process improvement and workflow optimization within the tax team

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or CA qualification (or working towards it)
- Proficient in Xero and MYOB accounting software
- Strong understanding of Australian taxation laws and compliance requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proven ability to work independently and within a team
