Prestons, NSW | Permanent Part-Time
16 hours per week across 2-3 days | In office
Looking for a part-time bookkeeping role where you can genuinely take ownership of the finance function?
BOOM Kids Clinic is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper / Accounts Officer to manage the day-to-day financial operations of our growing allied health business.
This isn't a role where you'll simply process transactions. We want someone who knows their way around Xero, keeps accounts exceptionally clean, notices when something doesn't add up and takes responsibility for following it through.
You'll have the autonomy to manage your work, while still being part of a collaborative team and supported by our external accountant.
What you'll be responsible for
- End-to-end payroll processing and payroll reconciliation
- Superannuation and payroll-related requirements
- Accounts payable and coordination of supplier and expense payments
- Bank and credit card reconciliations in Xero
- Accounts receivable and proactive follow-up of outstanding accounts
- Coordinating invoices and payments between Xero and our client management system
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies between systems
- BAS, IAS and payroll tax preparation and requirements
- Maintaining accurate coding and financial records
- Supporting month-end and end-of-financial-year processes
- Providing financial information and reports to management when required
- Responding to queries and information requests from our external accountant
Our accountant will continue to review the accounts monthly initially, giving you support while you become familiar with BOOM's systems and processes.
Who we are looking for
We're looking for an experienced bookkeeper who doesn't need to be chased to get things done.
You’ll be someone who is naturally organised, accurate and comfortable taking responsibility for your area. You can work independently, but you also enjoy being part of a team and communicating with the people around you.
You’ll bring:
- Strong bookkeeping experience across payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations
- High-level proficiency in Xero
- Experience managing payroll and associated obligations
- Confidence working across different financial and business systems
- Excellent attention to detail
- Robust problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate discrepancies
- The ability to prioritise your workload and meet deadlines without close supervision
- Clear and professional communication skills
- A high level of discretion when handling payroll, financial and client information
- Experience within healthcare, allied health or an NDIS-funded organisation would be a strong advantage, but isn't essential if you bring solid bookkeeping experience and are confident learning our industry.
Why BOOM?
BOOM Kids Clinic is a growing paediatric allied health organisation with teams across NSW and Victoria.
Our clinicians support children and families through Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology and Dietetics, while our operations and administration teams work behind the scenes to keep everything running well.
We're bringing our day-to-day bookkeeping function in-house and want the right person to make this area their own.
For the right person, this is an opportunity to have genuine responsibility and autonomy without needing to work full-time.
You’ll have:
- A permanent part-time position of 16 hours per week (with room to increase as we grow)
- Hours spread across 2-3 days
- A consistent in office role at our Prestons clinic
- Some flexibility in the agreed working days
- Direct access to our external accountant when support or clarification is required
- A collaborative workplace where you'll work closely with the people responsible for running the business
- The opportunity to improve systems and processes as BOOM continues to grow
If you're an experienced bookkeeper who likes having ownership of your work, enjoys keeping things organised and accurate, and wants a substantial role without full-time hours, we'd love to hear from you.
