You will provide clinical assessment, monitoring and care for patients travelling between hospitals, healthcare facilities, residential care and private homes. Working alongside your crew and operations team, you will help ensure each transfer is safe, coordinated and comfortable.
Key responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients before and throughout transport.
- Deliver clinical care within your authorised scope of practice and AMR protocols.
- Recognise changes in a patient's condition, **escalate** concerns and provide appropriate care.
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, carers and healthcare professionals.
- Provide accurate clinical handovers and complete patient care documentation.
- Safely assist and move patients using appropriate equipment and manual handling techniques.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, infection prevention standards and equipment readiness.
- Work collaboratively with crew members, dispatch and operations staff.
- Uphold patient dignity, privacy and confidentiality.
About you
- Current registration as a Paramedic with the Paramedicine Board of Australia through Ahpra.
- A recognised paramedicine qualification, such as a Bachelor of Paramedicine or another qualification accepted by the Board.
- A current unrestricted driver's licence appropriate to the vehicles operated.
- Current CPR certification.
- Robust clinical assessment, communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to safely perform the physical duties of patient transport.
- Willingness to complete relevant pre-employment checks and provide evidence of required immunisations.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and safe clinical practice.
- Previous experience in patient transport, ambulance services or a similar clinical environment would be highly regarded.
