About Construction and Maintenance South

The Construction and Maintenance South Branch forms part of the Infrastructure Services Group (ISG) and is responsible for developing and maintaining community infrastructure including stormwater drainage/culverts, footpath/cycleway and road and bridge infrastructure assets. The primary service objective is to ensure the abovementioned asset classes are developed and maintained in a coordinated and integrated manner. The Construction & Maintenance South Branch plays a crucial role in driving capital and operational works projects across the Toowoomba region.

About the role

Working under limited supervision, you will provide expert advice and consultative support on construction and maintenance activities, whilst leading the successful delivery of Construction and Maintenance South's capital projects as designated by Council's Capital Works Program. Projects will include a wide variety of works ranging from bridge and stormwater structure works to footpath and road asset renewal.

What you’ll bring

- Bachelor ofEngineering Civil, or equivalent, from a recogniseduniversity.
- Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ), or ability to obtain RPEQ registration within 12 months of commencement.




- WHS Competency (White Card) for CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry, or equivalent, or a willingnessto obtain prior to commencement.
- Working in proximityto Traffic Awareness Part 1 and 2, or ability to obtain within3 months of commencement.
- Demonstrated relevantexperience providing engineering and technical advice in acivil construction workplace.
- Demonstratedexperience in the performance of the Construction Management role within a civil environment including the supervision ofconstruction teams and the direction of works.

The preferred candidate will be required to undertake a CriminalHistory Check and a pre-employment medical assessment to assesstheir ability to perform the genuine occupational requirements ofthe position.
