VT Freight Express is seeking an experienced AM Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team. This is a full-time position based at our Archerfield, QLD facility working 4:00am - 12:30pm. As an AM Forklift Operator, you will play a crucial role in our depot operations, ensuring the efficient movement and handling of freight and goods throughout our depot. This position is essential to maintaining the smooth flow of our supply chain operations and supporting the timely delivery of goods to our customers.

What you'll be doing

Load and unload VTFE vehicles and country agent linehaul trucks using a forklift.

Sort freight into country and metropolitan bays, prepare the breakdown area and break down freight into the relevant delivery runs.

Check freight against its destination area and zone to ensure it is loaded onto the correct truck.

Configure pallet layouts for productive loading and assist drivers with loading as required.

Complete CHEP and Loscam pallet control dockets, maintain pallet records and ensure drivers receive all required freight and pallet paperwork.

Ensure country agent linehaul drivers complete the required Chain of Responsibility documentation before leaving the depot.

Repair and repack damaged freight, and stack empty pallets safely in designated areas.

Maintain and reset the depot’s operational areas for the next shift.

Perform other reasonable duties as directed by the QLD Operations Manager.

What we’re looking for

Valid forklift licence

Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment





Strong understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and procedures

Physical fitness and ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Clear communication skills and ability to follow instructions

Reliability and punctuality, with a strong work ethic

Experience in the freight, logistics or manufacturing sector is highly desirable

Knowledge of warehouse management systems is preferred but not essential
