About the Position

Reteng Buddha Australia Foundation Limited is seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Buddhist Abbot to provide religious leadership, oversee daily monastic activities and support the spiritual development of Rathab Monastery and its Buddhist community.

Key Responsibilities

?Oversee the monastery's daily religious activities and guide the resident monastic community.

?Deliver Buddhist teachings, particularly in Gelugpa philosophy, scriptures and traditional practices.

?Lead Buddhist prayers, meditation sessions, religious ceremonies and Dharma assemblies.

?Conduct traditional Gelugpa Vajrayana rituals and guide practitioners in Tantric Buddhist practices.

?Provide spiritual guidance and religious counselling to monks and lay followers.

?Supervise monastic education, religious discipline and the spiritual development of resident monks.

?Coordinate Buddhist retreats, festivals and other religious activities.

?Support the monastery's religious development and engagement with Buddhist communities.

Qualifications and Experience





?Formal ordination and monastic training in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.

?Extensive knowledge of Gelugpa Buddhist teachings, scriptures and religious traditions.

?Ability to independently read and understand Tibetan-language Buddhist scriptures and Gelugpa religious texts.

?Demonstrated experience in conducting Vajrayana rituals and guiding traditional Tantric Buddhist practices.

?Substantial experience in Buddhist teaching, religious ceremonies and monastic leadership.

?Ability to deliver Buddhist teachings and spiritual guidance in Mandarin Chinese.

?Robust commitment to Buddhist monastic discipline, religious practice and community service.
