About us The Strategy Group (TSG) is a boutique Australian strategy consultancy. We exist to transform human experiences, and we’ve been partnering with public and private sector organisations since 2003. Our work is grounded in human-centred design, and we’re growing our practice in Major Projects, working with the leaders who plan and deliver some of the country’s largest construction and infrastructure programs.

The role

We’re looking for a Consultant to join The Strategy Group in a full-time position, with a primary focus on our Major Projects and Construction team. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to our broader CX, EX and AI strategy work, giving you exposure to a wide range of clients and industries.

You’ll work alongside senior client stakeholders to support them in preparation for their submissions and presentations. This includes managing and coordinating the key people needed to develop the messaging/content, capturing their thinking, shaping it into clear and compelling material, and presenting it back to them with confidence. It’s a client-facing role that suits someone who is comfortable presenting to and adapting to a team of senior stakeholders’ needs, proactively offering guidance and suggestions, and building a sharp slide deck under time pressure.

What you’ll do

- Apply customer experience and human-centred design principles to client challenges
- Design clear, high-impact PowerPoint presentations, distilling complex input into the key messages
- Capture input from senior client stakeholders and help turn it into well-structured content




- Work with client teams to gather and shape the content they need for their submissions
- Support our team through clients’ bid and ECI phases, helping to plan and facilitate workshops, shape strategy and develop content for key presentations
- Build your confidence presenting to groups, including senior leaders and executives
- Bring a can-do attitude to getting across technical concepts in a construction environment
- Contribute to engagements from start to finish, delivering high-quality work that meets client expectations
- Work with leading construction clients, including Tier 1 contractors, on some of Australia’s largest infrastructure projects
- Work on site with clients in Sydney and interstate

What you’ll bring

- An understanding of customer experience and human-centred design principles
- Excellent PowerPoint skills, with the ability to produce clean, easy-to-read slides at pace
- Confidence presenting to groups, and a genuine desire to grow in front of senior audiences
- The ability to work collaboratively and build trusted relationships within multidisciplinary teams
- Some experience in, or a genuine interest in, designing and facilitating workshops
- Excellent listening,



synthesis and writing skills
- Curiosity, a can-do attitude, and comfort working in fast-moving project environments
- Experience in the construction or infrastructure industry (highly regarded)
- Based in Sydney with full working rights in Australia, and the flexibility to travel and work interstate for several weeks at a time. Australian citizenship is highly regarded, as some projects require security clearance

What this role is not To save you time, please note:

- This is not a UX/UI or graphic design role. While strong slide design is essential, we’re looking for a strategy consultant, not a digital or visual designer
- This is not a bid manager role. Our work supports clients through bid and ECI processes, but you won’t be coordinating submissions, managing bid timelines or writing tender responses

If your background is primarily in UX/UI design, graphic design or bid management, this role is unlikely to be the right fit.
