Department of Education Victoria – Yarrambat VIC

Yarrambat Primary School serves the people in the surrounding area of Yarrambat, in particular housing estates along Yan Yean Road.

The school wishes to provide the local community with an educational program that recognizes and supports all areas of the Victorian Curriculum and children¿s individual and collective talents.

The school aims to match or exceed all state means and like school means.

Our vision:

Yarrambat Primary School supports children to meet life¿s challenges with the confidence to succeed.

Our school values are: Respect for Rules, Teachers, Parents, Peers and Themselves, Honesty, Manners and Politeness, Rejection of Bullying, Tolerance and Appreciation of Individuality, Friendliness, Kindness, Trustworthiness, Confidence and Striving for Excellence.

These values are in granite on the school entrance and are displayed in every classroom. They were values chosen by parents, students and staff.

Every child at Yarrambat Primary School is entitled to a learning environment in which they feel confident and in which their learning needs are catered for. Each child is also entitled to a playground environment where they can play safely and interact confidently with other children.

The clear message being communicated to children is that they are responsible for their own behaviour.

We share with parents the responsibility for the social, physical, emotional and academic progress of the children.

Yarrambat Primary School has a current enrolment of 619 and the school resides in a growth area.

Our facilities, include a gymnasium with a stage which doubles as a music classroom, purpose built classrooms for Upper School, a new library/Italian Cultural Centre,

a gallery area between two portable classrooms and an outdoor stage area.

These facilities added to the existing buildings make Yarrambat Primary School an outstanding facility to give children the skills and knowledge to meet life¿s challenges with the confidence to succeed.

The nature of the parent population in Yarrambat has changed significantly over the last five years, with nearly all families now consisting of both parents working on suburban blocks within housing estates.
