General Manager – Construction Operations

About the Role

As General Manager – Construction Operations, you’ll take full control of the day-to-day running of the construction and operations departments. You’ll oversee supervisors, scheduling, estimating, and admin teams to ensure all homes are delivered within the company’s 16-week build program without compromising on quality or communication. This is a hands-on leadership position.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the full construction and operations team, including supervisors, schedulers, and admin.
- Ensure homes are delivered within 16-week timeframes through strong planning and performance management.
- Recruit, train, and mentor team members while maintaining clear accountability standards.
- Refine and enforce internal systems, procedures, and quality controls.
- Oversee supplier performance, pricing negotiations, and buying efficiencies.
- Run weekly production and scheduling meetings to maintain momentum across all projects.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and profitability.
- Report directly to the Director on build progress, operational metrics, and team performance.

About You





You’re a proven construction leader who thrives on structure and accountability. You’ve managed growing teams before and understand the systems, discipline, and culture required to deliver consistent build times.

Requirements

- Minimum 10 years’ experience in residential construction, with at least 5 years leading operations or construction delivery for 100–200 homes annually.
- Strong understanding of build programs, scheduling, and site workflow.
- Leadership experience with proven success in building and managing high-performing teams.
- Robust negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Proficiency with Onsite Companion or similar project management systems.
- A solutions-focused, no-excuses attitude and commitment to continuous improvement.
