We are seeking an outstanding educator and leader to join our Secondary School as Director of Academic Extension. This full-time (1.0 FTE) leadership opportunity is offered as an eight-year fixed-term appointment and is underpinned by a permanent substantive teaching position. The role comprises of a 0.6 FTE teaching load and a 0.4 FTE time allowance.
About The Role
Reporting to the Deputy Principal Middle School, the Director of Academic Extension will lead and develop a agile range of academic enrichment programs designed to challenge, inspire and support high-achieving students.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Leading the Academic Scholars Program (ASP) for Years 7-9.
- Designing, implementing and evaluating innovative extension programs that promote critical thinking, creativity and interdisciplinary learning.
- Managing academic competitions,
enrichment initiatives and extension opportunities across a variety of disciplines.
- Coordinating academic clubs, mentoring programs and Homework Club.
- Building strong partnerships with staff, students, parents and external providers.
- Promoting a culture of curiosity, scholarship and academic excellence throughout the College.

- Strong knowledge of contemporary educational practices, gifted and talented education, and curriculum development.
- Exemplary teaching practice and a passion for student achievement.
- Outstanding communication, organisational and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to lead strategically, collaborate effectively and inspire both students and colleagues.
