OPERATIONS MANAGER –

COMMERCIAL CLEANING SERVICES

Silk Property Services Group is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead service delivery across school and commercial cleaning sites.

The role is responsible for contract mobilisation, workforce coordination, client service, quality, safety and day-to-day operational performance. Cleaning Supervisors will report to the Operations Manager.

Key responsibilities

- Plan and manage the mobilisation of new cleaning contracts.
- Lead the Cleaning Supervisors and oversee cleaning teams across multiple sites.
- Maintain appropriate staffing, rosters, attendance and site coverage.
- Monitor service standards through inspections, audits and corrective actions.
- Build effective working relationships with clients and authorised site representatives.
- Resolve operational concerns promptly and keep management informed.
- Coordinate recruitment, induction, training and performance management with HR support.
- Ensure compliance with WHS, child safety, site access and incident-reporting requirements.
- Manage cleaning equipment, chemicals, consumables and site resources.
- Monitor labour hours, timesheets and payroll accuracy, budgets and operational reporting.
- Identify practical improvements to service quality and efficiency.
- Attend sites during operational hours, including early mornings or evenings when required.

About you

You will have

- Operations management experience within commercial cleaning,



facilities management or another multi-site service environment.
- Experience leading supervisors and frontline employees.
- Strong workforce planning, rostering and problem-solving capability.
- Experience mobilising current contracts or establishing new service sites.
- Knowledge of quality assurance, workplace safety and incident management.
- The ability to manage client expectations and resolve service issues calmly.
- Sound administrative, reporting and computer skills.
- A current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
- Australian working rights.
- A current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain one before commencement.
- Willingness to complete site-specific and child safety inductions.
- A satisfactory National Police Check.

A relevant qualification in operations, facilities management, business or workplace safety would be useful, although practical experience and sound judgement will be given significant weight.
