As a Painter & Decorator, you’ll work across a variety of projects, helping transform interior and exterior spaces through careful preparation, precise application and attention to detail. You’ll be responsible for completing work to a high standard while maintaining a clean, protected and organised work environment.

Your role

● Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling, patching and completing minor repairs.

● Protect floors, furniture, fixtures and surrounding areas before work begins.

● Select, mix, match and apply paints, stains, varnishes and protective coatings to interior and exterior surfaces.

● Use brushes, rollers, spray equipment and other painting tools safely and effectively.

● Measure areas and estimate the quantities of paint, materials and equipment required.

● Follow project specifications, colour requirements and instructions from supervisors or clients.

● Inspect completed work to identify imperfections and complete any necessary touch-ups.

● Maintain a clean and organised worksite throughout each project.

● Clean, maintain and safely store tools and equipment after use.

● Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment.

● Communicate professionally with clients, team members, contractors and supervisors.





● Work efficiently to meet project deadlines while maintaining a consistently high standard of workmanship.

What you’ll bring

● A trade qualification in Painting and Decorating or relevant industry experience.

● At least one year of painting and decorating experience.

● Strong knowledge of surface preparation, paint products, application techniques and finishing methods.

● Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.

● The ability to work independently, manage tasks effectively and contribute positively as part of a team.

● Good communication and customer service skills.

● A reliable, punctual and professional approach to work.

● The ability to follow instructions, work safely and adapt to different project requirements.

● Physical fitness and the ability to stand, bend, reach, climb ladders and handle painting equipment for extended periods.

● A current driver’s licence is desirable, but not essential.
