Boilermaker / Welder-Fabricator 4-Month Contract (Potential Permanent) $35–$40 )

Ecoshield Pty Ltd is a Queensland-based manufacturer specialising in the design, fabrication and installation of custom acoustic welding bays, fume extraction systems, acoustic enclosures, panels, screens and related industrial noise and air-quality solutions. We work with fabrication workshops, training facilities and industrial clients across Australia.

We are seeking a qualified Boilermaker / Welder-Fabricator for an initial 4-month contract, with a solid possibility of transitioning to a permanent full-time position based on performance and workload.

About the role

You will be involved in the workshop fabrication and welding of custom steel structures, acoustic enclosures, welding bay frames, panels and related components. The work is varied custom fabrication rather than repetitive production-line work.

Key responsibilities

Fabricate and weld steel components from engineering and detail drawings

Perform welding using MIG (GMAW), Stick (MMAW) and FCAW processes (TIG experience an advantage)

Mark out, cut,



form and assemble structural and sheet-metal work to tight tolerances

Maintain high standards of workmanship, dimensional accuracy and finish

Work safely and contribute to a clean, organised workshop

Collaborate with the team on custom projects from drawing to finished product

About you

Trade qualification: Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaker/Welding) or equivalent recognised trade certificate

Solid hands-on experience in structural steel fabrication and welding in a workshop environment

Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications

Current or recent welding experience with common processes (MIG, Stick, FCAW)

Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work

Reliable, safety-conscious attitude and ability to work both independently and as part of a small team

Construction White Card (desirable)

Additional welding tickets (AS/NZS 1554 or similar) and experience with acoustic or enclosure work highly regarded
