The Client

Al Jannah Da'wah Centre is a religious organisation based in Greenacre, NSW, providing faith-based activities, religious instruction and community support. The Centre is seeking an experienced Religious Assistant to support its worship services, educational activities and community engagement programmes.

The Role

This is for a full-time role with an annual salary set between $70,000 to $80,000, depending on experience plus superannuation.

Duties will include:

- Assist with the preparation and conduct of religious worship services, prayer activities and acknowledgements of Islamic faith
- Support religious leaders in preparing and delivering sermons, special talks and faith-based educational discussions
- Coordinate religious instruction classes, including lesson preparation, learning materials, session arrangements and participant engagement
- Facilitate prayer groups, religious discussions, retreats and seminars, particularly supporting young Muslim women within the community
- Provide faith-based guidance and religious encouragement to community members in accordance with the Centre's religious principles
- Organise community welfare initiatives, charitable activities and outreach programmes to promote social responsibility and community participation
- Assist with planning and coordinating religious events, seminars, educational sessions and community projects
- Visit community members in homes, hospitals and other institutions to provide religious comfort, spiritual encouragement and community support
- Liaise with religious leaders, volunteers, participants and community representatives to coordinate religious programmes and activities




- Support the preparation of religious educational materials, programme schedules, attendance records and community activity documentation
- Encourage participation in faith-based learning, religious gatherings, community welfare activities and social development programmes
- Maintain respectful, confidential and culturally appropriate communication when assisting community members with sensitive religious and personal matters

Requirements

- At least 2 years' experience providing Islamic religious instruction, with advanced knowledge of Quranic teachings, Hadith principles, Islamic jurisprudence and religious educational methods
- At least 2 years' experience supporting congregational worship, religious sermons, Quranic studies, faith-based lectures and prayer activities
- At least 2 years' experience developing religious instructional materials, structured learning programmes and Islamic educational activities
- At least 2 years' experience facilitating Islamic study circles, religious seminars, retreats and faith-based programmes, particularly for Muslim women
- At least 2 years' experience coordinating charitable initiatives, religious welfare programmes, community outreach and volunteer activities
- At least 2 years' experience providing culturally sensitive religious guidance, spiritual support and pastoral care, including home and hospital visits, while maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding standards
- Robust interpersonal, public speaking and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex religious teachings to diverse audiences
- Excellent organisational skills, cultural awareness and ability to work independently and collaboratively with religious leaders, educators and community volunteers
