About the role
We're looking for a dynamic Client Finance Officer with strong customer service skills to work between 30-38 hours. You'll look after a portfolio of clients through our cloud and AI finance systems. When a client is worried about a bill, a pay run or a missing receipt, you're the person who reassures them it's in hand, then jumps in and sorts it.
This role is a desktop, relationship and data role. You will manage a portfolio of clients through our finance systems, and be the onshore link between our clients, our offshore team and our leadership: keeping the books moving, chasing what is missing, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. You will be the first point of contact for client finance requests and triage. You will use connected cloud and AI systems every day to manage your clients, with full training provided.
Key responsibilities
- Manage an allocated portfolio of clients using our finance systems, so every request, task and deadline is tracked and visible
- Be the first point of contact for client finance requests by email, Teams and phone, and triage what you handle, delegating out as required to the internal teams.
- Chase clients for receipts, invoices, approvals and missing information in a friendly, culturally respectful way
- Code and reconcile the transactions the offshore team can't resolve, including recoding items once receipts arrive.
- Enter and check bills, attach supporting documents to every transaction, and prepare bills for approval.
- Run monthly system checks across clients and answer internal and external queries so BAS can lodge on time
- Prepare pay runs in Xero, MYOB Payroll and prepare supplier payment batches for client approval
- Use our AI tools every day to code, check, draft and summarise, and review their output for accuracy before it reaches a client
About you
- Energetic, strong customer service. Calm, warm communicator who connects with clients, reassures them, takes ownership and follows through
- Strong computer skills. Highly confident across cloud software, Microsoft 365 and spreadsheets, quick to learn new systems, and able to work independently online
- Comfortable using AI tools in daily work and checking what they produce.
- At least 3 years' hands-on accounting software experience, including bank reconciliation, bills and Xero Payroll
- Well organised. Able to juggle several clients and deadlines while working remotely
- Understanding of GST basics, payroll and Single Touch Payroll
- National Police Check required (Working with Children Check for some clients)
- Reliable internet and a quiet place to work
