GetCareers is recruiting four enthusiastic individuals to undertake a Boilermaking/Welding Apprenticeship with an established and reputable local business based in Naval Base, WA.

This is a full-time, earn-while-you-learn prospect to gain a nationally recognised Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking/Welding) while learning from experienced tradespeople.

About the Role

As a Boilermaking/Welding Apprentice, you will:

- Shape, join and repair metal parts used in machinery, equipment, metal structures and other metal products.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Measure, mark out, cut and form metals to specifications.
- Operate and maintain a variety of welding tools and equipment.
- Gain practical, hands-on experience alongside experienced tradespeople.
- Develop skills through exposure to a range of fabrication and welding projects.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking motivated, reliable and enthusiastic individuals who are eager to learn, develop practical trade skills and commit to completing their Boilermaking/Welding Apprenticeship.

Successful applicants will ideally have:

- Driver’s licence and reliable transport – Essential due to limited public transport options to the site, particularly for early morning starts.
- Local residency – Must live in Naval Base or nearby surrounding suburbs; applicants from areas such as Mandurah may not be suitable due to the location.




- Reliability and commitment – Punctual, dependable and committed to completing the apprenticeship.
- Communication skills – Confident communicating with supervisors and team members, asking questions and following instructions.
- Organisation and initiative – Well-organised, proactive and able to take initiative when learning new tasks.
- Curiosity and work ethic – Eager to learn, develop new skills and demonstrate a positive attitude towards work.
- Flexibility – Willing to work overtime on occasion when required.
- Pre-employment requirements – Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical assessment and drug and alcohol screening (DAS).

The following are desirable but not essential:

- Current police clearance
- Forklift licence
- Crane experience
- Rigging and dogging tickets

Eligibility Criteria

- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Must reside in the Naval Base area or surrounding local areas due to the job location.
- School leavers are encouraged to apply.
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Women are strongly encouraged to apply.
