About the Opportunity

Talent is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join a global health service provider, working on the development and enhancement of a cloud-based analytics platform.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on engineer with a strong background in software development, AWS cloud technologies and DevOps practices to contribute to the design, development and ongoing improvement of scalable, secure and high-performing cloud-native applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop and maintain scalable cloud-native applications and microservices.

- Develop and enhance RESTful APIs, event-driven services and application frameworks.

- Build, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline development, testing and deployment processes.

- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CDK or CloudFormation.

- Design and implement secure, reliable and cost-effective cloud solutions, primarily within AWS environments.

- Work with containerisation technologies such as Docker and AWS ECS.

- Implement monitoring, logging and observability solutions to optimise application performance and reliability.

- Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, solution architects and technical stakeholders.

- Integrate automated testing, security scanning and compliance checks into development workflows.

- Drive continuous improvement across application development,



automation and cloud engineering practices.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:

- Strong hands-on software engineering experience, particularly with React, TypeScript and NestJS. Candidates with solid Python and Node.js development experience will also be considered.

- Solid experience working with AWS cloud services, including compute, storage, networking and security.

- Demonstrated experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, microservices and cloud-native applications.

- Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, ideally using Azure DevOps.

- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform, AWS CDK or CloudFormation.

- Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and AWS ECS.

- Knowledge of cloud monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and AWS CloudWatch.

- Understanding of cloud security principles, including IAM, VPC and secrets management.

- Strong scripting and automation capabilities using Python, Bash or similar technologies.

- Experience working within Agile development environments and collaborating across technical teams.
