Kimberley Education Regional Office are seeking to establish a pool of Program Coordinators – High-Quality Teaching for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2027 and up to the end of December 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The role is designed to accelerate and intensify existing strategies to address low education outcomes in the Kimberley and underpins broader economic and social development in the region.

The role links to four key components (cornerstones):

- Community Engagement – development with the community of extended learning programs and related initiatives. Support includes coaching and advice for school leaders and teachers around building and sustaining positive school-community partnerships and upskilling parents and carers in early literacy development.
- Early Years - community initiatives that build on and improve existing services and engage families as first teachers through KindiLink and community initiatives.
- High-Quality Teaching – evidence-based teaching strategies, quality materials and frequent measurement of achievement and English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) strategies targeting preliteracy and numeracy skills through first language development.
- Attendance and Engagement – community partnerships to deliver strategies that respond to drivers of non-attendance.

This pool of Program Coordinators seeks to fill roles primarily addressing High-Quality Teaching.

Roles will be based in either Broome, Kununurra or Fitzroy Crossing.

This position involves regular travel to remote schools and regional communities. Travel is a significant requirement of the role and will involve periods away from home. Applicants should consider their capacity to undertake frequent travel when considering applying for the role.

The Role

Suitable applicants will ideally have well developed knowledge of High Expectation Relationships, Culturally Responsive Leadership, and Trauma-Informed Practices.

They will demonstrate exemplary teaching practice with a deep understanding of both explicit instruction and EAL/D strategies targeting preliteracy and numeracy skills through first language development.

They will be responsible for high level classroom management, modelling effective instruction, primarily in Kindergarten to Year 2, but may also be required to support and coach teachers in Years 3-10.

An understanding of the importance of data to drive practice and how to support teachers to analyse and unpack data sets would be advantageous.

The Program Coordinator (High-Quality Teaching) will provide instructional coaching and as such the suitable applicant should have a high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to form trusting relationships with teachers from various backgrounds and experience. As a member of the Project team, you will be working with high performing colleagues in a positive and supportive environment.

We are seeking applicants with an outstanding work ethic, a desire to learn and a commitment for high individual and team performance. A willingness to assist in the design and delivery of Professional Learning is also desirable.

Applicants do not necessarily require expertise across all four cornerstones but will need to demonstrate their understanding of how all four interrelate and how their particular skillset will add value to the work.

Our employees enjoy a range of benefits which include:

- 12% employer contributed superannuation.
- Generous leave entitlements including annual, personal, long service and parental leave
- Career development opportunities and study leave/assistance
