Social Media Content Creator
Contract | 3 days per week | Sydney CBD
We’re looking for a creative, data-driven Social Media Content Creator to bring The Monda Company’s brands to life on TikTok, Instagram and beyond.
Who is this role for
You think in hooks, stories and edits and you love turning an idea into content people want to watch, share and engage with. TikTok is second nature to you. You follow the creators shaping the platform, spot trends early and create content of your own.
You’re just as interested in how a post performs as you are in making it. With at least 1–2 years’ experience in social media or content creation, you’re ready to take ownership of our channels and help build our brands in a growing business.
About The Monda Company The Monda Company is a travel lifestyle company that specialises in creating creative products. We are the people who help travellers preserve their most cherished memories through the creation of fun, high-quality merchandise that people want to keep forever. Our products are sold in hundreds of airports and landmarks worldwide.
Every product starts as an original design, so there is always something new to shoot, launch and talk about.
What you’ll do
- Create content: Plan, shoot and edit TikToks, Reels, product photography, carousels, Stories, static posts and GIFs.
- Take ideas from concept to publication: Turn a rough brief into finished content, contribute your own ideas and bring the team’s concepts to life.
- Plan everyday content and campaigns: Keep our channels active while creating bigger moments around product launches, new city collections and peak travel seasons.
- Own the content calendar: Manage a monthly schedule that balances planned campaigns with timely, spontaneous content.
- Build our community: Grow our following,
encourage engagement and respond to comments and DMs in our brand voice.
- Capture content on location: Visit destinations and stores to shoot content and support launches.
- Stay across trends: Identify relevant trends, sounds and formats, adapt them to our brands and experiment with new opportunities.
- Keep our branding consistent: Make sure every post reflects our visual identity and tone of voice, with our product designs at the centre.
- Coordinate collaborations: Build relationships with travel creators and collaborating artists, including gifting, user-generated content and joint launches.
- Track and improve performance: Set targets, test ideas and use results to shape what we create next.
What you’ll bring
- A strong understanding of TikTok and Instagram: You know the platform’s creators, culture, editing tools, sounds and effects and what makes people stop scrolling.
- A portfolio that shows your work: Share content you’ve created and examples of accounts you’ve helped grow.
- Relevant experience: At least 1–2 years in social media or content creation. Experience with consumer products, retail, travel or lifestyle brands is a strong advantage;
experience on photography or film shoots is a bonus.
- Confident shooting and editing skills: You’re comfortable using both a phone and camera and have experience with tools such as CapCut, Lightroom, Photoshop, Figma
- Platform knowledge:
You understand TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest, including their native analytics.
- An eye for design: You understand composition, visual storytelling and brand consistency, and know how to make products look their best.
- Fresh ideas and cultural awareness: You follow travel, pop culture and internet trends, understand Australian humour and slang, and know when they suit the brand.
- Strong copywriting: You write sharp, engaging captions and scripts
- Confidence with data: You can track views, engagement and follower growth, and report clearly using Excel or Google Sheets.
- Attention to detail: You check product names, captions, spelling and final edits before publishing.
- Organisation and initiative: You can manage several projects, meet deadlines and keep work moving independently.
- A collaborative approach: You take a brief well, contribute ideas and give and receive feedback constructively.
- Relevant qualifications or practical experience: A degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Shopify experience, ideally: There’s scope for the role to expand into managing our online store.
