Who are we?

We are Australasia’s largest privately owned aggregator group, backing more than 6,000 brokers and advisers across Australia and New Zealand. Partnering with over 110 banks and lenders, we support independent businesses alongside our own Loan Market brand. In FY26, our brokers helped over 400,000 people settle over $167 billion in loans and reached a collective loan book of $428 billion, proof of what happens when scale meets real drive.

We live our values in everything we do. Compassion for our customers, doing what we say, being curious and thinking openly, going further together. We’re ambitious, but we keep our feet on the ground, always hungry, always humble, and focused on being the absolute best at what we do.

We were proud to be named Australian Financial Review BOSS Best Place to Work - Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services & in 2025 and one of Mortgage Professional Australia's Top Mortgage Employers for 2026!

The Opportunity:

The VIC State Director is responsible for leading Loan Market and Partner network growth across Victoria and Tasmania. This is a strategically significant leadership role with responsibility for market share growth, network expansion, brand development and the performance of one of the most important regions in the organisation.

The role sits at the intersection of commercial leadership, business development, coaching and community building. A key priority will be accelerating growth in the Loan Market and Partner propositions by attracting high-quality businesses to the network and helping existing business owners improve performance, profitability and scale. Success will require a disciplined approach to recruitment, strong territory planning, deep engagement with key business owners and a relentless focus on market share growth.

Key accountabilities include:

- Market Growth & Network Expansion - Grow market share across Victoria and Tasmania.

- Develop and execute state growth strategies.
- Recruit high performing businesses into the Loan Market and Partner networks.
- Identify geographic white space and expansion opportunities.
- Increase franchise footprint and brand presence.

Business Owner Success

- Coach and support business owners to improve profitability, productivity and scale.
- Facilitate best practice sharing across the network.
- Drive adoption of technology, operational capability and growth initiatives.
- Build trusted relationships with the state's most significant business owners.

Leadership & Culture

- Lead, develop and inspire a high performing field team to ‘level up’.
- Create a robust culture aligned to LMG values.
- Establish clear performance expectations and accountability.
- Drive collaboration across the broader matrix organisation.

Strategic Partnerships

- Strengthen relationships with key lenders and strategic partners.
- Work closely with Ray White leadership to create mutual growth opportunities.
- Represent Loan Market across industry forums and stakeholder groups.

The Successful Candidate:

This role requires a commercially minded leader who combines growth capability, leadership maturity and genuine relationship building strengths. While financial services experience may be advantageous, it is not essential. LMG is deliberately seeking a leader who brings fresh thinking and a different perspective. A leader who can help business owners build better businesses, not simply write more loans.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record growing market share, leading distributed teams and building strong commercial relationships with business owners, franchisees or customers. They will be comfortable operating in a highly autonomous environment and equally capable of thinking strategically and executing tactically.

The successful candidate will be:

- Highly commercial and results oriented.
- Curious, innovative and growth focused.
- Resilient and comfortable with ambiguity.
- Self driven and accountable.
- Warm, authentic and relationship oriented.
- A natural coach and mentor.
- Collaborative and team focused.
- Comfortable challenging constructively with the ability to face into difficult conversations and being challenged in return.

Benefits:

- Flexibility & Balance: Hybrid work (min. 2 office days per week, including a team anchor day), 6 additional ‘Me’ leave days, flexible public holiday swaps, and options to purchase additional annual leave.
- Family & Wellbeing: 16 weeks gender neutral paid parental leave (plus superannuation support), paid fertility treatment leave, 12 days personal leave, and access to the Sonder wellbeing app.
- Growth & Development: Dedicated paid study leave and L&D; programs for each stage of your career
- Community: Participation in the Loan Market Group Foundation (with donation matching) and a paid volunteer day.

Using AI in your application: At LMG we embrace innovation, and we are comfortable with candidates using AI tools to assist in preparing their application. We encourage you to use these tools to polish your resume but please be mindful that your application should remain an honest representation of your own experience and qualifications. We are keen to get to know your true capabilities and how your specific background aligns with our team, which we will explore further in our conversations and interviews.
