Build the frameworks that will shape the future of power in WA’s remote communities
Join Horizon Power as our Power Systems Planning & Performance Manager and establish the planning, performance and reliability frameworks that will guide the future of generation and distribution systems across remote communities. This is a rare opportunity to build a new capability from the ground up and turn complex system information into clear, evidence-based decisions.
At Horizon Power, we’re more than an energy provider. We’re shaping the future of power for regional and remote communities across Western Australia. Working across operations, asset management, projects, finance and customer functions, you’ll help identify emerging risks, system constraints and investment priorities across a diverse portfolio of remote power systems.
Your Role In Action
- Lead the development of short, medium and long-term plans for remote community generation and distribution systems.
- Establish practical system planning, performance and reliability frameworks, measures and reporting processes.
- Oversee system studies, modelling and forecasting to identify capacity constraints, reliability risks and future energy requirements.
- Translate technical analysis into clear recommendations that support operational, investment and asset planning decisions.
- Represent Remote Communities within the broader System Planning Centre of Excellence, while building capability across a growing team.
What You’ll Bring
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, backed by strong experience in power system planning across generation and distribution.
- Experience building planning frameworks, processes or capability from the ground up, rather than relying on established systems and ways of working.
- Solid knowledge of power system planning and modelling,
with the ability to identify system constraints, risks and future requirements.
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with the confidence to work through ambiguity, incomplete data and complex problems to develop practical solutions.
- Strong stakeholder and leadership capability, with the ability to work across Operations, Asset Management, Projects, Finance and other technical functions to influence decisions and outcomes.
Experience with renewable energy integration and energy forecasting will be highly regarded. The position is based in Bentley and requires occasional travel to regional Western Australia. Ready to Power WA’s Future?
Bring your systems planning expertise to a role where you can create lasting capability and directly influence the reliability, resilience and sustainability of power systems serving WA’s remote communities. Apply today.
