Speech Pathologist – Paediatrics & Disability

Say It Louder Speech Pathology – Ivanhoe East VIC

Are you a Speech Pathologist who cares about doing great work?

Whether you’re an experienced clinician looking for a practice where you can genuinely enjoy your work, or a new graduate ready to build your confidence in a supportive environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Say It Louder Speech Pathology is a growing private practice in Ivanhoe East, supporting children from 18 months and their families across clinic, community and telehealth settings.

We’re looking for our first team member—which means you won’t simply be stepping into an established role. You’ll have a genuine opportunity to help shape our practice, culture and the way we support families.

We’re looking for someone warm, curious, thoughtful and clinically driven. Someone who enjoys working with children and families, thinks critically and takes pride in doing things well.

The role

You’ll work with children and families across a range of communication and developmental needs, with the opportunity to develop your caseload around your clinical interests.

This may include:

Speech sound disorders

Social communication

Literacy

Fluency

Autism and neurodivergence

AAC and assistive technology

Disability and complex communication needs

Our approach is evidence‑based, relationship‑centred and neurodiversity‑affirming. We believe therapy should be meaningful and functional—not therapy for therapy’s sake.

For new graduates

Your first role matters. We want you to have the time, support and psychological safety to learn,

ask questions and develop into the clinician you want to be.

You’ll have access to:

Regular supervision and mentoring

Clinical guidance and support

Professional development and funding

Support with assessment, clinical reasoning, report writing and therapy planning

Opportunities to observe and learn from experienced clinicians

A manageable caseload that grows with your confidence

You don’t need to know everything. We’re much more interested in your curiosity, attitude and willingness to learn.

What working here looks like

We’re intentionally building a practice where clinicians can do excellent work without burning out.

You can expect:

Realistic caseloads — quality over quantity

Flexibility and autonomy — build a working week that suits you and your clients

Strong administrative support — less paperwork, more clinical time

Variety — clinic, community and telehealth work

Supervision and mentoring — support without micromanagement

Professional development — funding, guidance and encouragement

A beautiful, well‑resourced clinic in a renovated wellness centre in Ivanhoe East

A warm, collaborative team environment

Fair remuneration that recognises your skills and contribution

Who we’re looking for

You might be a great fit if you:

Are clinically thoughtful and curious

Build genuine relationships with children and families

Are reliable, organised and communicative

Enjoy collaboration and sharing ideas

Are comfortable working independently—or keen to develop that confidence

Value ongoing learning and professional growth

Approach autism and disability from a respectful, strengths‑based and neurodiversity‑affirming perspective

Take pride in the quality of your work

Bring warmth, energy and a good sense of humour

AAC experience is a bonus, not a requirement. We care more about your clinical thinking, attitude and willingness to learn than ticking every box.

The essentials

You’ll need:

A tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology, or be completing your final year and eligible to commence practice upon graduation

Be a certified Speech Pathology Australia member

A genuine interest in paediatric practice

A current Working With Children Check and Police Check, or willingness to obtain them

A current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle

Your own laptop

Why Say It Louder?

Joining at this stage means your contribution will genuinely matter.

You’ll have a voice, know the families you work with, have autonomy in your clinical practice and the opportunity to help shape the future of the practice as it grows.

Most importantly, we want Say It Louder to be somewhere you look forward to coming to work.

Interested?

We’d love to hear from you.

Tell us a little about yourself, what you value as a clinician and what excites you about this chance
