An experienced Legal Counsel role focused on commercial contracting, legal advisory and business partnering, with the prospect to mentor a junior lawyer.

Key responsibilities

- Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including supplier, distribution, licensing and service contracts.
- Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice across the business.
- Manage contract negotiations and engage directly with commercial partners.
- Support business initiatives while identifying and managing legal risks.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and business teams.
- Mentor a junior lawyer and support improvements to legal processes.

About you

- Ideally 5–6 years PQE, with strong commercial contracting experience.
- Background in-house or private practice,



with in-house experience preferred.
- Strong contract drafting, negotiation and commercial advisory skills.
- Confident, concise communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and provide practical legal solutions.
- Admitted to practise in Australia, with a Victorian practising certificate.
- Competition law or broader corporate and regulatory experience (highly regarded).
- Experience within healthcare, pharmaceuticals or consumer products (highly regarded).
- Previous mentoring or junior team leadership experience (highly regarded).
