Etch Coatings part of the Simmonds Group, WA-owned powder coating and industrial coatings company based in Wangara. We specialize in powder coating, sandblasting, spray painting and protective coatings for a wide range of steel and fabricated products.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Powder Coating Floor Supervisor with strong team leadership skills, a hands-on approach and a commitment to quality.

In this role, you will lead and work alongside the powder coating team, oversee daily workflow, assist the Production Manager with production activities, and ensure steel and fabricated products are powder coated to a high standard. You will also support team members and contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient and productive workshop.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, guide and support the powder coating team while actively working alongside team members on the workshop floor.

- Assist the Production Manager with coordinating daily production activities, workflow and scheduling.

- Allocate tasks and monitor progress to help ensure production targets and deadlines are met.

- Carry out hands-on powder coating duties, including metal surface preparation and applying powder coatings.

- Operate powder coating equipment and spray guns to achieve a high-quality finish.

- Support and train team members in powder coating techniques, quality standards and secure work practices.

- Monitor product quality and ensure work meets customer specifications.

- Assist the Production Manager in identifying and resolving production issues and improving workflow efficiency.

- Communicate production progress,



issues and resource requirements to the Production Manager.

- Ensure equipment and work areas are kept clean, organized and safe.

- Promote teamwork and compliance with workplace health and safety procedures.

- Assist with general workshop and production duties as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Previous experience in powder coating.

- Strong knowledge of powder coating equipment, processes and surface preparation.

- Previous experience leading or supervising a team, with the ability to guide, motivate and support team members.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

- Ability to coordinate daily tasks and ensure production deadlines are met.

- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving production issues.

- A good understanding of workplace health and safety practices.

- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the team.

- A reliable, positive attitude and willingness to take a hands-on approach.
