Estimator – Turn Quotes Into Robes (And Robes Into Wins)

Hills Robes & Screens is a leading built-in robe, sliding door and screen company on the Sunshine Coast, based in Caloundra. We design, make and install everything in our own workshop, for homeowners and builders across South East Queensland. We’re known for quality work, honest timeframes and looking after our clients from the first call to the final install. The business has grown, and it’s time to bring on someone who can turn our measures into sharp, winning quotes. But we only want the best. Are you good enough?

We’re recruiting an Estimator, full time, starting late November with a three-month probation period, at $75,000 to $95,000 depending on experience. You’ll own every quote from measure to handover: priced accurately, presented clearly, and handed to our sales team with everything they need to close it. You might be estimating for another cabinet maker, joiner or builder right now and want to see your work actually win.

Wherever you are now, this is what you must be able to do to work at Hills:

1.



Produce accurate quotes within 2 business days of the measure, using our pricing calculator and Tradify.

2. Present quotes to both residential and other trade clients.

3. Brief our sales team on every quote: the client’s budget, which option they’re leaning towards, and anything that could cost us the job.

4. Hold the price. We sell value, not discounts.

5. Read drawings and site measures, and spot what’s missing before it costs us. We’re problem solvers, and we fix it before it reaches the workshop.

6. Check every quote as if it were your own money. If it’s not good enough for us, it’s not good enough.

7. Work closely with our measurer, drafters and Office Manager so the handover from quote to production is smooth.

8. Keep our Job Management System accurate and up to date, every day.

9. Have fun, enjoy and be proud of what you achieve in your working day.

10. Have at least 2 years of estimating or quoting experience in joinery, cabinetry, building or a related trade (preferable).

11. Be confident on the phone and comfortable talking clients through their options.
