Sydney or Melbourne | National Projects | Electrical Infrastructure & Critical Facilities

Reporting to senior leadership, the WHS Manager will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Delta Australia's Work Health & Safety Management System (WHSMS).

This role provides strategic and operational WHS leadership across electrical infrastructure, construction and installation projects throughout Australia, with responsibilities spanning governance, compliance, risk management, auditing, contractor management and project safety assurance.

Working closely with Project Managers, Service Teams, Contractors and Executive Leadership, you will help shape a safety-first culture while ensuring compliance with Australian WHS legislation and ISO 45001 standards.

The position may be based in Sydney or Melbourne, with regular travel to project sites across Current South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia.

Key Responsibilties

(1) WHS Strategy and Governance (20%)

- Develop, implement and continually improve Delta Australia's own WHS Management System

- Maintain compliance with Australian and relevant WHS legislation, regulations and electrical & critical industry standards

- Manage legislative compliance registers and governance frameworks

- Lead WHS reporting, performance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives

- Support executive leadership in meeting WHS due diligence obligations

(2) Project Safety Leadership (20%)

- Provide WHS support and guidance across all project delivery activities

- Review project safety plans, risk assessments and Safe Work Method Statements

- Ensure compliance with client requirements and contractual WHS obligations

- Facilitate project mobilisation and safety readiness activities

(3) Risk, Compliance & Auditing (20%)

- Lead ISO 45001 compliance activities and internal audits

- Conduct site inspections and contractor safety audits

- Coordinate regulatory inspections and client audits

- Monitor corrective actions and drive continuous improvement

Contractor & Workforce Safety (20%)

- Establish contractor prequalification and monitoring programs

- Manage induction, onboarding and competency requirements

- Drive safe systems of work across all project sites

- Promote a proactive safety culture across employees and subcontractors

(5) Incident Management & Improvement (20%)

- Lead incident investigations and root-cause analysis

- Monitor corrective and preventative actions

- Analyse trends and implement risk reduction initiatives

About You:

- Minimum 7 years' experience in WHS, Health & Safety or EHS roles within construction, electrical contracting, critical infrastructure or industrial environments

- Proven experience developing and implementing WHS Management Systems

- Experience supporting multi-site project operations across Australia

- Strong working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and ISO 45001

- Experience managing contractor safety, auditing and compliance programs

- Demonstrated ability to influence and engage stakeholders across all organisational levels

Highly Regarded:

- Current construction white card

- ICAM or other incident investigation certifications

- ISO auditor credentials

- Audit experience: internal, contractor, client and compliance

- Experience in: electrical contracting, critical power, UPS system, data centers, energy infrastructure, renewable energy and EV charging

- Driving license: Australian
