Firefly HR is proud to be working exclusively with a family-run early learning provider in the Maquarie Park area to find their next Centre Director.

The Prospect

Some Directors lead from behind a desk. Others know the best part of the day happens in the rooms, alongside educators and building relationships with families.

We're looking for the second kind.

This is an opportunity to lead an established early learning service with positive foundations, a committed team and a provider that values quality education and care.

You'll be joining a close-knit organisation where relationships matter, leadership is collaborative and there is support available across the broader team.

We're looking for someone who brings experience, confidence and a genuine interest in people. Someone who can guide a team, maintain high standards and continue building a positive environment for children, families and educators.

What You’ll Do

- Build trust with educators, children and families through consistency and presence
- Mentor your team, strengthen practice and give meaningful feedback
- Keep quality high and make sure compliance and regulatory requirements are met
- Lead change together with your team,
- Balance the people side with operations: rostering, timesheets, family communication and notifications
- Work closely with your Assistant Director and build shared ownership

About You

You're a warm,



confident and experienced early childhood leader who understands that great services are built through people, relationships and consistent practice.

You know how to lead a team, but you're also comfortable collaborating, sharing ideas and working towards common goals.
You'll bring:

- Experience as a Centre Director or a strong Assistant Director ready for the next step
- An Early Childhood Teaching qualification (preferred), although Diploma-qualified leaders are encouraged to apply
- Strong understanding of the NQF, NQS and regulatory compliance
- Experience mentoring educators and building positive team cultures
- Confidence managing operations, people and challenging conversations
- A genuine commitment to quality education, child safety and continuous improvement

Most importantly, you're someone who takes the time to understand a service, its people and its community. You recognise what's working well, identify opportunities and bring your team along with you.

Child Safeguarding
We're looking for a leader who understands that child safeguarding is much more than a compliance requirement.

You'll be expected to actively promote a culture where the safety, rights and wellbeing of children are embedded in everyday decisions, behaviours and practice.
