About the role

1st Care Community Victoria is seeking a Social Group Coordinator to plan and deliver welcoming group programs for older people. You will help participants build friendships, enjoy activities that interest them and stay connected with their community.

Key responsibilities

- Plan and facilitate activities shaped by participants' interests, abilities and cultural backgrounds.
- Organise centre-based sessions, community outings and celebrations, including venues, transport and refreshments.
- Work with participants, families and Care Partners to understand support, access and dietary needs.
- Coordinate support workers and volunteers so participants receive appropriate assistance during activities.
- Plan for group safety, respond to concerns and follow incident reporting procedures.
- Maintain attendance and program records, gather feedback and manage activity costs within approved budgets.

About you

- Experience facilitating groups, lifestyle programs or community activities,



ideally with older people.
- Robust organisation and communication skills, with confidence leading activities and coordinating a team.
- A person-centred approach that supports choice, inclusion and cultural preferences.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates, and a National Police Check or willingness to obtain. NDIS Worker Screening where required.
- A current driver's licence and willingness to travel locally, with an insured vehicle where required.
- Qualifications in Leisure and Health, Community Services, Individual Support or a related field are desirable. Greek, Italian language skills and experience supporting people living with dementia are highly regarded.
