You're someone who enjoys the technical side of construction. Reviewing drawings, spotting potential issues and working with consultants to make sure everything comes together properly.
You like getting into the detail rather than just pushing paperwork around, and you're confident questioning designs when something doesn't look right.
In this role, you'll work closely with the Design Manager and project team on a brand current $100million project in Western Sydney so it’s a great chance to make a name for yourself straight away.
You’ll take ownership of specific design packages and ensure everything complies with the BCA, fire regulations and relevant Australian Standards.
You'll review drawings using Bluebeam, coordinate with external architects and engineers, identify potential clashes and help resolve design issues before they become expensive problems on site.
The role has autonomy as you'll split your time between the office on the North Shore and on site in Mount Druitt, working Monday to Friday from 8am-5.30pm.
The business has excellent staff retention, with plenty of employees having been there for over 10 years. They invest in their people, have well-resourced projects and look after their staff.
The starting salary is in the $120k-$140k + super range + a yearly bonus, with longer-term progression available.
Sounds great! What skills do you expect from me?
You don't need to be the finished article for this role, but to be in with a shout, you'll need to tick the following 4 (and a half points!)
- 3+ years of design coordination or similar experience with a builder or consultancy, ideally across commercial, retail or industrial projects in Australia
- A good understanding of the BCA/NCC, fire compliance and how different design packages come together.
- Confidence reviewing drawings and documentation using Bluebeam, with experience using Procore, Aconex or similar.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple design packages
- Exposure to 3D design coordination, Revit or Navisworks would be ideal, but you can learn this on the job.
I'm intrigued. What's the next step?
