We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cook to become part of our team at Luv A Coffee. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with fresh ingredients, preparing quality meals and contributing to a positive dining experience for customers.
The successful applicant will play an important role in the daily kitchen operations, ensuring dishes are prepared and presented to a high standard while maintaining food safety, cleanliness and hygiene. You will work alongside a supportive team in a busy workplace where teamwork, efficiency and customer satisfaction are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a range of menu items in line with established recipes and standards.
- Ensure meals meet expectations for taste, quality, freshness and presentation.
- Follow all relevant food safety, hygiene and workplace health regulations.
- Keep kitchen workspaces, equipment and utensils clean, safe and well organised.
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house employees.
- Support menu development and contribute ideas for new dishes when required.
- Manage kitchen tasks efficiently during busy service periods.
Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent qualification.
- At least one year of experience as a Cook in a busy restaurant or a similar food service setting.
- A sound understanding of food preparation methods, cooking techniques and food presentation.
- Strong practical cooking skills and knowledge of food safety requirements.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and remain organised under pressure.
- Effective time management and clear communication skills.
- A strong focus on consistency, quality and attention to detail.
- Enthusiasm for preparing fresh, flavorful and appealing dishes.
- The ability to work well with others and contribute to a team environment.
- Availability to work weekends as required.
